The razor sharp fluorite replacement is first rate. And the color, the amazing color, just so sweet, pastel blue/mauve chalcedony. Psudos of this old-time quality are uncommon on the market. For sale is a fascinating quartz from the rapidly becoming famous Huanggang mine, Inner Mongolia. The well defined crystal group has a reasonable coverage of pale-ish green chlorite over it, but there is just enough areas where the underlying red quartz can be seen clearly. The really interesting thing about these are the red quartz is what would be described in any other circumstance as carnelian, but as carnelian does not crystallize other than micro, I'm reluctant to call it this. What I can say is I have never seen anything similar to this, the spray of red crystals, has all the appearance of carnelian. We obtained a couple of these this is by far the best one.

For sale is a rather uncommon color "chocolate" calcite group, from Tsumeb, Namibia. First this is a floater with no apparent point of contact. I obtained this at the Bathurst Gemboree about 10 years ago, and since then I have not been able to find, even a picture of a similar one. The saturated deep brown color, and high luster of the crystal faces is quite unique. I have no idea what the inclusions that color the calcite are, while it "could" be hematite, the chocolate brown color just doesn't look right. Excellent condition and best luster.
