1 A OKENITE ON BLUE CHALCEDONY

1 A OKENITE ON BLUE CHALCEDONY

Details:

For sale is a superb okenite on blue chalcedony from Aurangabad, India. This stalactite has been photographed from both sides, to completely capture the beauty of this specimen. The snow white pristine okenite, is distributed liberally over the blue, almost rope like chalcedony. This is memorable stuff, that we decided to obtain as many pieces as we could when this debuted 3 years ago. Like most uncommon things from India, these have not been seen again!!! Our specimen as we thought disappeared rapidly, fortunately we did hold a couple back, and here they are.

1 a ORDONTILITE

1 a ORDONTILITE

Details:

For sale is a very rare ordontilite from an unknown location, most likely USA, but not sure. This huge for the species, came out of Bernie Whytes collection, unfortunately with no accompanying references. To quote Alfredo Petrov "Bone starts as the mineral Hydroxylapatite (with some organic components too). During long burial in soil, some of the hydroxyl part (the "(OH)" in the chemical formula) can slowly get replaced by fluorine (F), and eventually the mineral part turns into the mineral Fluorapatite" there is some fluorescence, yellow color, typical of fluorapatite.
