For sale is a rather uncommon color "chocolate" calcite group, from Tsumeb, Namibia. First this is a floater with no apparent point of contact. I obtained this at the Bathurst Gemboree about 10 years ago, and since then I have not been able to find, even a picture of a similar one. The saturated deep brown color, and high luster of the crystal faces is quite unique. I have no idea what the inclusions that color the calcite are, while it "could" be hematite, the chocolate brown color just doesn't look right. Excellent condition and best luster.

For sale is a fantastic chrysanthemum stone from China. This material dates from the Permian period, 250 mill. to 300 mill years ago, and is set in matamorphic rock. The white mineral usually being celestite. This three dimensional piece, is amazing in it size and form, the carving has been done exquisitely. There are a few incomplete blades, but overall a stunning specimen, with real visual impact, from any distance.Sorry not available to overseas buyers, at nearly 2kgs, its prohibitively expensive to post.

For sale is an historic translucent green talc specimen from Russia. This large specimen of talc is a lovely shade of pastel mint green, and is composed entirely of foliated blade crystals. Talc is the softest mineral on earth, scoring a 1 on the Mohs scale of hardness. Surprisingly very few mineral collectors have any talc in their collection. This specimen could be called a "sleeper" I have had it for more than 10 years, trying to identify it and its location, a recent visit to the Australia Museum, solved the problem, with a similar one on display there. Ex A Martin collection, Munich, Germany. Old time classic specimen.
