Our large range of minerals reflects the fascination and the desire to preserve our unique Australian material.
Our quest is to further the knowledge and understanding of minerals in the wider community. A browse through these web pages show that we have a rather interesting range of uncommon and hard to find Australian mineral specimens. We have been exhibiting and selling fine Australian minerals since 1990, featuring rare collectors specimen from Broken Hill NSW, Torrington, Hillgrove and other important mines in Australia.

For sale is a fine selenite fishtale twined crystal from the Lake Gillies region, S.Aust. We have a striking, highly unusual, nearly transparent, colorless and somewhat "hourglass" twinned Gypsum crystal from Lake Gilles. The crystal is included with clay particles and both terminations show fishtail-twins, though one is more pronounced than the other. Lake Gilles produces some of the most unusual Gypsum crystal forms in the world. See the Mineralogical Record article in the May-June, 1982 issue, Vol. 13, No. 3 for more info. For sale is a quartz crystal floater group, from Mt Isa. There are a couple of minor dings, on this piece, but overall its an outstanding Australian quartz specimen. Highly lusterous, and very esthetic, this was the pick of more than 30kgs of crystals from this location. There is a frosting of micro quartz on some of the rear faces.

For sale is a wonderful quartz floater group from the long close Old 25 mine, at Kingsgate, NSW. This unique group is uncommon in that it has a area of smoky quartz, and its has all of the rather tenacious clay removed, revealing a decent luster. These were obtained from the walls of the mine, and there unusual form makes the source of these instantly recognizable. There is one small ding on one tip, otherwise pristine. Collected by and from the collection of Bernie Whyte. Material of this quality is just never seen in the market today.

For sale is a clear fluorapatite crystal on sitting next to some orthoclase crystals, from Lake Boga. There are a number of other apatites scattered thru the specimen. This piece is very entertaining under the microscope. While not a record size specimen this is certainty, a good representative piece.

For sale is a transparent pale purple fluorite, from Mt Bischoff, Tas. This group is very well formed crystal, I must say, the label says there is pyrite on the fluorite, and there is some dark material there, but I would be surprised if its pyrite. This specimen is a solid vein of fluorite, with very dark purple fluorite on the rear. Good fluorite from Australia is not common.
MOUNT BISCHOFF, WARATAH DISTRICT, TAS.
43 x 27 x 27mm

First of all this is a terribly hard specimen to picture. This is a single complex crystal of good translucent clear fluorite, that has a lot of deep purple phantoms flashing thru many different parts of the piece. This is a large single crystal, few if any Australian fluorite location, outside of Tasmania, can match this size. While not having high luster, the sharpness and good condition of the piece, make up for it. Uncommon. We obtained this piece of an old Finnish couple, who had migrated too and worked in Mt. Isa.

For sale is a purple fluorite in quartz from Soldiers Cap, Mt Isa, Qld. As far as we know this is the first recorded finding of this combination in Australia. There is as the picture shows a good spread of fluorite thru most of the quartz crystals. We obtained a few of these at the recent Lismore Mineral show, from a small find made in 2012. Rare.

For sale is a genicular (bended knee) stibnite, from Hillgrove, NSW. These stibnites are a classic form well known from this location. It cant be seen in the pic, but there is a hole, towards the top, in the center, of the crystal, very uncommon, but a known feature of a small number of these specimen. We obtain this specimen, when we purchased the collection of the late Roland Hill, who was a geologist at the mine.

Gillardite is an extremely rare copper nickel chlorine halide, found only at this locality to date, the specimen is mainly gaspite, with dark green areas of gillardite. There is a similar sized specimen on I Rocks for US$950. It does have a little more gillardite than this, but compare our price. Its also a great example of stibnite quartz vein material, found in the area. We obtained this rare specimen when we purchased the collection of the late Rowland Hill, who was the mine geologist at Hillgrove. PLEASE NOTE THE GOLD FROM THIS MINE OFTEN HAS A BROWNISH COLOR.
