Our large range of minerals reflects the fascination and the desire to preserve our unique Australian material.
Our quest is to further the knowledge and understanding of minerals in the wider community. A browse through these web pages show that we have a rather interesting range of uncommon and hard to find Australian mineral specimens. For sale is a calcite and galena with marcasite from Goongewa mine, W.Aust. The description with the specimen said ON sphalerite, but when I look at it there are sphalerite crystals (reddish brown) scattered among the highly lusterus water clear calcites. Nice specimen from a location rarely seen as a specimen producer.

For sale is a nice matrix calcite from Renison Bell mine, Tas. The calcite crystals are individual and well displayed, add to that the clarity makes it a pretty unusual(actually almost unheard of today) calcite specimen from this local. Most crystal have a complex multi stepped surface, possible a result of in situ etching. Specimen from this famous mine (cant recommend to highly reading "The Rush That Never Ended) were never in plentiful supply and now that it has ceased operation, there wont be any more. Ex Harold Rennie collection.

For sale is a nice calcite specimen from a little know location, outside of South Australia, Rapid Bay. This specimen features decent well formed undamaged crystals, on a massive calcite matrix. The largest crystal is quiet transparent, and razor sharp in form. There are a number of included metal crystal visisble in the calcite, that I think are at least two different metals, and an interesting green, probably copper secondary mineral included in the calcite. Interesting piece, uncommon location, ex Keith Webbster collection, specimen number C26.

I have taken a new pic, I hope it show how wonderful this specimen is in person. For sale is an outstanding pseudomorph of quartz after calcite, from Golden Cross Mine, N.Z. This was a gold and silver mine that closed down a few years ago, I have seen similar specimen, from there, but this is the only one I have seen with the calcite shape being hollow, with perfect quartz crystal lining the inner sides. This specimen is way way better in person, than the pics indicate. Rare and beautiful.
GOLDEN CROSS MINE, WAIHE, N.Z.

For sale is a Broken Hill specimen. We purchases this about 12 years ago from Bernie Williams(Broken Hill, miner) and it was labeled as kutnohorite, But I have never been completely happy with this label. There is a good possibility it is calcite, with a very good sprinkling of pyrite, very hard to capture in the pictures. Pics show both sides of the specimen. Sale price is one third of our original purchase price.

Paralleled growth and smooth luster , are the characteristics of these classic old Australian quarts, from Rumbsys mine, Torrington. This is a large size specimen, quiet uncommon for the location, we must note that there is a ding at the back of the top section. These specimens have a clear quartz center with the candle wax as an overgrowth. Great size.

For sale is a large cassiterite specimen from Kathida mine , The Gulf. This piece at one time in its past had a number of beryl crystals perched on it, now all that remains are the imprints make by the beryl crystal faces and an unidentified yellow orange mineral, which is possible a breakdown product. Interesting piece. Ex Clifford brothers collection, Emmaville.

For sale is a cassiterite crystal group from and unusual and obscure location, Garden shaft, The Gulf Emmaville, NSW. First of all this is nearly impossible to get a good pic of, everything in the pics is a crystalline with the largest crystal sitting at the top , 10mm. I would not be surprise if this is the only specimen ever to be offered from this location. The piece is all cassiterite. Way better in person, this piece has the classic triangular stepped faces of Emmaville cassiterite. Ex Clifford brothers collecion
GARDEN SHARFT, THE GULF, EMMAVILLE, NSW.
35 x 21 x 16mm
Price: $ 36.00 Product ID: 2839
For sale is a quartz crystal with cassiterite, and tourmaline crystals shot thru it, from Red Lode, Emmaville, NSW. The single crystal of quartz is included with and many acicular black crystals of Tourmaline! This association is seen in only a handful of cassiterite specimen. The crystal is compleat, with the top section being gemmy, not really seen well in the pics. The tourmaline association in this piece is certainly special, and worthwhile. There has been a latter overgrowth of quartz, on the three front faces, but interestingly, not on the rear faces, the overgrowth is quite transparent. Rare unique specimen.
RED LODE, EMMAVILLE, NSW.
65 x 30 x 32mm

For sale is a quartz and cassiterite from Emmaville NSW. On first appearance one may think what is special about this piece, but If you think about it when have you ever seen a cassiterite associated with a hematite included quartz? The specimen is a bit tortured on the rear, but it has excellent luster, and is a really uncommon specimen. Its actually better than the pics indicate.

For sale is a fine cassiterite on quartz from Elsmore mine, Elsmore, NSW. This is a reasonably uncommon specimen from this classic location, as milky quartz matrix is not common. Gives great contrast. The base and back have been sawn on the specimen, sits well with the cassiterite crystal nicely centered. The main crystal is highly lustrous and in pristine condition. Uncommon, old material. This mine has not produced for many years now.
