Our large range of minerals reflects the fascination and the desire to preserve our unique Australian material.
Our quest is to further the knowledge and understanding of minerals in the wider community. A browse through these web pages show that we have a rather interesting range of uncommon and hard to find Australian mineral specimens. We have been exhibiting and selling fine Australian minerals since 1990, featuring rare collectors specimen from Broken Hill NSW, Torrington, Hillgrove and other important mines in Australia.

For sale is a quartz specimen with multiple rainbow flashes, from a new small find at Tinga, NSW. The quartz crystal has been tumbled polished. Its not to uncommon to have a rainbow flash in a crystal, but to have multiple ones is uncommon, this is a very pretty specimen. Much much better in person.

For sale is what I call an opal sandwich, opal on selentite on mudstone, on opal on selenite, on opal. This is a fantastic example of a unusual sequence of opal seam. The opal has not been polish, bUt cleaned with water and a good brush. Facinating, solid structure, this material came from a find in the early 1970s, I have never seen any others! Ex Brian Hutchinson collection.

For sale is a specimen of peanut wood, an unusual petrified driftwood, from Carnarvon, W.Aust. The name comes from the resemblance of the lightly colored bore holes made by a marine worm, looking like peanuts. Peanut wood has to be collected not mined, and can be considered reasonably uncommon, occasionally some come to market, but the supply is very irregular. This specimen is well balanced in color.

For sale is a pink zircon from Harts Range. While the pics give an apperance of brown, the actual color is a nice saturated pink. Internally very gemmy, while there are some internal fractures,(typical of the locality), there are only a few, not the typical shattered internal these can have.

For sale is a pseudomalachite from West Bogan mine, NSW. Pseudomalachite is uncommon hydroxyl copper phosphate, for a long time this mistaken for malachite. This features beautiful rounded deep saturated green on a shattered quartz matrix. These specimens(equal to the Slovakian material, that is the highlight of the Mindat gallery) are today just never seen, try and find another for sale! Comes with a very old collection number on the natural base.

For sale is an uncommon style of quartz, from Silent Grove, Torrington, NSW. This interesting water clear specimen has a reverse taper, in form, not particularly common. Also it starts at the base with a somewhat typical Silent Grove style, that is triangular in shape, but at the head or top of the specimen it is hexagonal in form, again not common. Fascinating. We obtained this specimen from Alan Arnold, who owned the Silent Grove mine. Mined in 1990.

For sale is an interesting quartz group from Torrington. As the pics show the crystal group is white quartz on one side and pink (hematite inclustion) on the other. Excellent condition (the smallest of small chatter on one tip) great size , this came from the Reg Taylor collection (Mullimbimby) so it must have been collected sometime before the mid 1970s. Ex Alan Arnold . This better than the pics indicate.

For sale is a specimen of rainbow colored turgite from Iron Knob, S.Aust. As can be seen from the pics this specimen displays a radiating color pattern, on both sides. Pretty material from a location this is rarely seen from. This is my last specimen from this location.

For sale is a slice of quartz, I think rhyolite, from somewhere in Australia. We obtained this specimen from the Newcastle Lapidary Club, and it had been part of an old Australian collection. Its a rather pretty and uncommon specimen, with excellent cut and polish. I somebody recognizes where this comes from we would love to know a location, thanks. Rare.

For sale is a ruby in granite quartz matrix fromj the 1978 excavation at Mistral mine, Mt Brady. This find is and was the only commercial ruby production that has happened in Australia, so it has some significance. These were once quite abundant, but as the years go these are becoming scarce. This is a reasonable representative specimen, with fine fluorescence.

For sale is a very decent Austalian rutile, from May Down, Qld. The main crystal while it has a cleave towards the rear is still very presentable, actually its a a very good crystal from Australia, where rutile in good crystals is uncommon. There are quite a few other rutile crystals covering the rear. The positioning and luster of the main crystal and the contrasting colors of the matrix, work very well!
