Our large range of minerals reflects the fascination and the desire to preserve our unique Australian material.
Our quest is to further the knowledge and understanding of minerals in the wider community. A browse through these web pages show that we have a rather interesting range of uncommon and hard to find Australian mineral specimens. For sale is a gaspeite from Widgiemooltha, W.Aust. Gaspeite is a rare nickel carbonate, this location was the biggest find of collectible material in the world, Discovered in the early 1990s, the location was exhausted by the end of the decade. All material available today is recycled from that original find, so as you can understand it even rarer today. This specimen is virtually solid gaspeite!

For sale is a specimen of gemmy red variscite, from the last century find at Iron Knob, S.Aust. There have only ever been two finds of red variscite in the world, Dolce valley in Brazil, (Superbly represented on Mindat) and Iron Know (Superbly un represented on Mindat), the non representation is surprising as the Australian find predated the Brazilian one by about 10 years. Sorry the pics are not great, the white star spots in the first pic, are the reflection of the shiny crystal faces. Great coverage of crystals. Excellent specimen, uncommon.

For sale is a classic glendonite from the Hunter valley in NSW. This is a good sized specimen, surprisingly this Dana locality is not represented by a pic on Mindat. These specimens start out as Ikaite which is calcium carbonate (Calcite) but with a handful of water molecules attached to it. Once the Ikaite reaches a temperature above 8°C (46°F), it pseudomorphs into Calcite. Ex Rad Davis collection.
GLENDON, HUNTER VALLEY, NSW.

For sale is a glendonite from the Dana locality, Glendon, NSW. A very interesting pseudomorph of calcite replacing a starburst-like cluster of crystals of the rare the calcium carbonate mineral ikaite. Ikaite is fascinating , because apart from crystal of ice it is the only mineral I know that crystallizes at a very low temperature (approx 1 - 4 degrees C.) This aesthetic specimen, has relatively sharp faces, above average for this material.

For sale is a fabulous glendonite, from the Dana locality in the Hunter valley, NSW. This is of the most impressive glendonite I have come across, first of all the style is of a rarer form, from this local, then the size, this is big, its in pristine condition, one is actually quiet attractive. These specimens start out as Ikaite which is calcium carbonate (Calcite) but with a handful of water molecules attached to it. Once the Ikaite reaches a temperature above 8°C (46°F), it pseudomorphs into Calcite. Ex Berni Whyte collection.

For sale is a large golden calcite rhomb, from the Kandos quarry, Kandos, NSW. Surprisingly when checking Mindat there are no pics of the golden calcite this location is famed for. This material is translucent to transparent, the specimen is of a large, size, and represents one of our best locations for this quiet clean material, with good color. Ex Bernie Whyte collection, Newcastle.
KANDOS QUARRY, KANDOS, NSW.
75 x 63 x 60mm
Price: $ 50.00 Product ID: 3798
For sale is a single crystal of golden calcite from Kandos quarry, NSW. An outstanding calcite specimens and this is an unusually large one, this quarry has produced some nice golden material, but they are almost always cleaved sections. A large crystal of this size is amazing. The pics show front and rear of the specimens, the rear has an area of contact, with another crystal in the pocket. A rare and important Australian calcite specimen.

For sale is an Australian classic, a "granade" dravite tourmaline, from May Downs, Mt Isa, Qld. These have been getting harder and harder to obtain in any size, over the last few years. This is a good size has good definition, and well proportioned, as seen in the pics. The smaller end termination is quite reasonable, with the top terminations, being more rounded. Great size!
MAY DOWNS STATION, MT ISA. QLD.

Price: $ 88.00 Product ID: 4060
For sale is a nice green and orange/red stripped bolder opal from Qld. Opals are notoriously hard to photograph, best to say the color is equal if not better than the pics indicate. The stripped pattern of alternating colors is uncommon. Large display area, of good color.

For sale is a lush green specimen of pyromorphite from Sylvester mine, Zeehan, Tas. There has long been a degree of controversy regarding which Zeehan mine these come from, but I will keep with the original label. The emerald green prismatic to barrel like crystals, are in pristine condition, contrasting nicely with the cream matrix. A fine Tasmanian pyro!

For sale is an uncommon (for the locality) floater group of quartz crystal, from the famous Silent Grove, mine, Torrington, NSW. There are a couple of phantoms visible in this undamaged specimen. Good luster. We acquired this from Alan Arnold, owner of Silent Grove, who told us that it came from the 200ft level(deepest part of the mine)
